All 200 acres of Estate vineyards are certified organic. These fine Estate vineyards produce the winery's Flagship Wines: Rubicon and Blancaneaux. These vineyards also produce the Estate Wines, wines that speak of the Rutherford Dust from which they are grown. In the mid-Twentieth Century, John Daniel, grand-nephew of Gustave Niebaum, was praised for his Cabernets aged in large wood casks. We have sought to revive this historic wine with the Cask Cabernet made exclusively from Estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. After the reunification of the Estate, the Francis Coppola Diamond Series was created. These award-winning, variety-specific wines are labeled with a rendition of the old Inglenook Diamond. The Francis Coppola Presents wines Rosso and Bianco, are proprietary red and white wines that pay homage to Francis Coppola's Italian heritage.

The tasting room at Porter Creek Vineyard is a simple but historic structure, built with hand made redwood beams and decorated with local artwork. “Mr. Dog”, who is 14 years old, sleeps in the sun outside the tasting room entrance by the organically grown pinot noir vineyard. The winemaker, Alex Davis, worked and studied in Burgundy for Christophe Roumier and the Rhone for E. Guigal. Alex's dog“Corky”, a Australian sheppard - Queensland healer, patrols the higher up organic vineyards for rabbits, turkeys and gophers. The Porter Creek tractors and truck are powered on bio-diesel (organic vegetable oil). The vineyards have wildlife corridors for the wild pigs, deer and rabbits. Hawks patrol the sky by day and barn owls by night.

The nose is filled with citrus aromas of lemon and lime, pear and many other complexities. In the mouth, one feels the grip of the mineral structure and the richness of this fuller bodied wine.

Master Organic Farmer Michael Topolos has authored three books and numerous articles on California wine, gives well respected lectures and classes, sits on the Wine Institute‚s Board of Directors and is a founder of California's Organic/Biodynamic movement. He and his charming wife Lisa and their two children Marcos and Lucas live a dream come true.

"Soil is the foundation of our winery," Michael states. "We respect its components and it returns to us a bounty that is clean and delicious." The estate vineyards are dry-farmed old vines grown without synthetic chemicals. This allows winemaker Jac Jacobs to make highly extracted varietals that collectors favor worldwide. Most of the grapes Topolos harvests are grown organically, biodynamically or by agri-synthesis. Greg Willis is responsible for creating the Agri-synthesis tinctures that are used to create the perfect frequency and life force energy in the vineyards. Like a "horse whisperer" reads horses, Greg intuits what each plant needs to grown and maintain optimal health. Chenoweth Vineyard Management erected the beautiful Barn Owl box in the estate vineyard visible from the tasting room parking lot. Each evening during the summer; dinner guests are treated to the bat migration over the vineyards. The staff at Topolos honor a true partnership with nature - choosing to promote life, not destroy it with pesticides, herbicides and petro-chemicals.

Quite frankly there is "good karma" here. Many a marriage proposal over Topolos wine and marriages at the enchanting Topolos restaurant bring solid meaning to the sacredness of matrimony. Indeed we may say that wine made from organically grown grapes is SACRED WINE.

The 2001 Rossi Ranch Zinfandel, Sonoma Valley, planted in 1910, this vineyard is living evidence of California's heritage of producing great Zinfandel. The flavors are complex and offer deep brambly fruit, ripe cherry, a nuance of plum, clove-spice and chocolate, the essence of old vine Zinfandel! Vineyard production is very low yield resulting in a concentrated wine with a long finish. Topolos salutes the original owner of this hallowed vineyard, Valentine "Val" Rossi, who we lost in March of 1999. Serve Rossi Ranch Zinfandel with marinated natural range fed steaks or lamb and risotto with wild mushrooms and always chocolate desserts!

We're a small, family-run winery committed to making small lots (typically under 1,000 cases of each) of superior quality wines that receive plenty of TLC. All of our wines are made from grapes grown in our CCOF certified organic vineyards that surround our tasting room. We're in the Yorkville Highlands appellation in southern Mendocino County. It's situated between the Anderson Valley and the Alexander Valley. We are unique in offering all seven of the main wine grape varietals traditionally grown in the Bordeaux area of southwest France.
